LocalWorksHVN: James Velvet, Song of the Month
Posted by Jo-anna Horn, June 3rd , 2007.
Check out JamesVelvet.com on the first day of each and every month for a new, free!, downloadable mp3 posting of unreleased (up ’til now) Velvet material. Some rare and unusual tunes.
This month’s feature is Castles Made Of Sand. (Click Link to listen/download)
This song was written in tribute to the late Fred Darrington (1910-2002) an English sand sculptor of great renown. His work has been carried on by his grandson, Mark Anderson, who will be plying the family trade in Weymouth, England again this summer, while listening to this song!
Also, check out more Velvet tunes at Hot Tunes in the Hot Shop. There you’ll find Ridin’ on a Train, from his latest Just Plain Jane and Other Modest Proposals and 99 Aisles from The Mocking Birds, Foreign Movies.

The song of the month!
Every first day of every month I will post a downloadable mp3 of an
unreleased JV recording on my site.
This month’s gem is “Castles Made Of Sand”.
It was recorded by Nick Appleby a couple of years ago in his home
studio. Nick plays everything but the fretless bass, played by Jack
Vees, and the acoustic guitar and vocals, done by yours truly.
Have fun.
